Battle of Vuhledar

During the Russo-Ukrainian war, the first main Russian effort to capture Vuhledar, a city in Donetsk Oblast, took place in the early months of 2023, following an advance through the surrounding area the preceding year. Ukrainian commanders described these clashes as "the largest tank battle" of the war to date.
