Battle of Killiecrankie

The Battle of Killiecrankie was fought on 27 July 1689 during the Jacobite rising of 1689. A Jacobite force led by Ewan Cameron of Lochiel and Viscount Dundee defeated a Scottish government army commanded by Lieutenant-general Hugh Mackay. James VII went into exile in December 1688 after being deposed by the Glorious Revolution in Scotland.
